With the imminent retirement of long-time Sheriff of Pulaski County Jim Davis, Mike Worrell will become the new Sheriff on July 1.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement on its Facebook page, along with photos showing Mr. Worrell being sworn in and receiving the Sheriff’s badge from Jim Davis.
Worrell was the highest ranking officer among Davis’ department, and by law the position is passed to the highest rank when the standing Sheriff leaves.
Davis has been Sheriff since 1997, while Worrell is a seasoned veteran of the department. Good luck to both men as they embark on their new courses in life.
